For all you chocolate orange fans.

Performance Nutritionist James Hudson has come up with a quick non-bake chocolate orange recovery snack to eat on-the-go.

RECIPE:

  • 150 g Chocolate Rice Pop Cereal
  • 1 whole orange
  • 80 g Tahini
  • 2 serving Big Whey Chocolate
  • 30 g Maple Syrup
  • 1 tablespoon Water
  • Orange Zest from 1/2 orange

Method:

In a large bowl, zest half of the orange and then halve and squeeze out the juice into the bowl from the whole orange.

Add to the bowl 2 scoops of chocolate Big Whey and mix well, forming a paste. You can at this point add a splash (1-2 tbsp) of water to form a smooth paste. Then, add the tahini and maple syrup, and combine well.

To the bowl finally add the chocolate rice pop cereal and mix well, coating all of the rice in the mixture well. Transfer this to a lined square cake tin or loaf tin and press down firmly to form an evenly spread layer, compacted well.

Place this in the freezer for 60 minutes and, when set, firmly remove and cut into 6 even pieces. Serve immediately or place in the fridge in a sealed container until ready to eat!
